The Vogel victorian

It’s funny how the universe works in mysterious ways. We have been tagged and DM’d on instagram about this beautiful Victorian home that host a KRAMPUS CHRISTMAS TEA! Say what? That’s right. The Vogel Victorian has decked the halls and is sharing their home with those charmed enough to join in on the PARANORMAL fun. As I was looking at photos of the Vogel home, I SWORE Roni and I had been there. The paint colors looked so familiar and upon further investigation; YES we had been there! Be it by accident (before they owned it) in August 2021,  Apple Maps sent us to the wrong Victorian home because it was listed as the HOWE-WAFFLE House.

We knocked and knocked for our tour guides to answer the door. I called the Waffle House to no avail. Finally, a man answered the door. “Can I help you?” uhhh sorry sir we have the wrong house. Ok, but here is where the plot thickens. In 2019 Roni, Sophia and I did a pop-up booth in Fullerton at the Glitterfest Show where we met many people with the love of VINTAGE just like ourselves. I’m instagram stalking The Vogel Victorian and my path leads me to The Sassy Therapist

WHERE I’m LIKE… WE MET Diana BEFORE! Life is weird.

Of course I DM her right away and VOILA! Roni and I are scheduled to join in on the KRAMPUS fun. As of this post ALL DATES are SOLD OUT for the KRAMPUS Christmas Tea. Don’t fret friends, their next event “BLOODY VALENTINE” is now on sale. Grab your tickets fast, they won’t be available for long.

Now, on to LAST NIGHT and the most splendid evening we have enjoyed in a really longtime.  Roni and I met at the Vogel Victorian where upon arrival Mr. Vogel “Dan” invites you to their backyard to sip on a glass of Red or White wine.  You may also partake in a glass of cucumber water too.  You get to mix and mingle with other guests while walking around the outside of their home. This is the PERFECT time to get selfies, and photos on the porch. I’m telling you, if you want to be whisked away to a gothic Hallmark movie this is the place.

Our hostess Diana comes out in full Victorian attire and invites everyone to the basement for some good ole paranormal dousing rod fun. We conduct a little Q & A with the resident ghosts and a few others that exist amongst us. Diana knows what she is doing and this mini paranormal investigation sets the right mood. Next we enter the house and have a little non-alcoholic shot in the cutest tiniest Santa mugs we ever did see. Look her in the “EYE or DIE” as we’re promptly taught cheers etiquette.

We’re then led into the kitchen where we get to make our own herbal and aromatherapy concoctions to ward off bad stuff or bring to us the energy we need. I’m sniffing the one I made as I’m typing this.  That fun activity wraps up, then we gather in their family room. The majority of guests nestle in on their cozy couch for a quick Victorian history lesson. Once our lesson concludes we move into the dining area. Our hostess seats us according to our groups of 2, 3 or 5.  We are seated at a table for 2, stunningly decorated for the occasion. Our night was full of birthday celebrations, friends and couples on dates. Oh, and repeat guests. Diana is so engaging and hilarious. Her humor and candor is sprinkled through out her ghost stories and paranormal happenings.  Dan is a delight. The night ends with Dan offering us a round or two or three of KAVA and we all embrace his Fijian tradition with enthusiasm. Clap before you drink and clap twice after.

The Vogel family has brought us back to an era where hosts and guests alike looked forward to enjoying themselves amongst friends. We want to thank Diana and Dan for their hospitality. Your kindness, humor, decorative talent and paranormal skills know no bounds. - Tamantha*
